Certina has added two versions to its DS Action Diver 38mm line, according to Monochrome: black PVD-coated cases paired with either orange or teal accents. The additions sit within a 2025 update to the DS Action Diver collection, which Monochrome reports receives enhanced shock resistance and new material combinations. Pricing is CHF 865, EUR 975 or USD 1,000.

Black PVD Case, Ceramic Bezel, and Diver Hardware

The new DS Action Diver 38mm uses a stainless steel case with a black PVD coating. It measures 38mm in diameter and 13.2mm thick. A unidirectional rotating bezel sits on top, fitted with a matte ceramic insert. The bezel graduations are colour-matched to the orange or teal accents of each version. The crown and caseback are both screw-down, and the watch is rated to 300m of water resistance. A domed sapphire crystal covers the dial, and it carries an anti-reflective coating. Certina also builds the case with its DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance construction. The watch is ISO 6425:2018 compliant, a standard discussed in our dive watch buying guide.

Orange or Teal Dial Accents and Lume

The dial itself is black. Around its edge is a coloured lacquered flange that hosts the minutes and seconds track; this flange comes in orange or teal. Applied geometric hour markers and the hands are treated with Super-LumiNova. The central seconds hand is lollipop-style and painted in either orange or teal, and it includes a luminous dot. A date window is positioned at 3 o’clock. For a quick break between spec comparisons, the Watchdle game offers a watch-themed challenge.

Powermatic 80.611 Movement and Strap Options

The movement is the Powermatic 80.611, also known as the ETA C07.611. It is automatic and described as an evolution of the ETA 2824, fitted with a Nivachron balance spring. Monochrome lists an 80-hour power reserve and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The watch is mounted on a black DLC-coated stainless steel bracelet. A matching silicone strap is included in either orange or teal. The bracelet has a quick-release system and a deployant clasp with two push buttons and a diver’s extension.
